Aylsham has a population of 5,000 and retains much from its historical past whilst modern shops and buildings evidence the town’s recent growth.
The main activities in this area are food and drink production, metals, plastics and rubber processing, mechanical engineering and paper associated industries. Tourism related industries, including hotel and catering, are also important.
A major local tourist attraction is Blickling Hall (National Trust) and much of the Broadland district is located in the Broads National Park, playing host to many visitors.
The town is situated on the busy A140, midway between Norwich and the coastal resort of Cromer.
There are two main industrial estates in Aylsham.
