Our Thetford office opened full-time in April 1963 and moved to The Gables, Old Market Street, in 1965. A listed building, The Gables was once the home of the Bidwell family, the local brewers.
The office houses 2 partners, 3 managers and 20 other members of staff serving the area in and around the town.
Thetford is the largest of the Breckland towns, with a population of over 20,000, and is the major centre for industry and commerce. Historic sites include the massive earthworks of Castle Hill and the ruins of Thetford Priory.
Breckland’s principal industry is distribution, followed by agriculture and other services. Thetford provides a base for a range of industries from the packaging of bacon to the production of medical equipment. The strategic position of the town on the A11 trunk road has been instrumental in the number of distribution firms which have set up in the area along with warehousing for several of the large national retailers.
There are six main industrial sites in Thetford.
