| Training to become a chartered accountant is both a challenging and rewarding experience.
During the typical three year training contract period professional examinations and assessments will prove a demanding and rigorous task. This will, however, give a thorough understanding of accountancy and business concepts and practice, and open the door to many career opportunities.
Entry is usually open to those who have attained a degree in their education. Very exceptionally we will consider those wishing to join from A levels, and consideration will also be granted to those who hold a qualification as an Accounting Technician (AAT). We also welcome applications from mature applicants and those wishing to change career direction. To be considered for a trainee role we would not expect an individual to have already commenced their Chartered Training studies.
Qualification means becoming a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant in England and Wales (ICAEW).

| Graduate - degree discipline is not important but it is preferable for students to have at least:
a second class honours degree; and
22 UCAS points at GCE ‘A’ level (280 UCAS points on the new tariff)
'A' level or equivalent - a minimum of 20 UCAS points (240 UCAS points on the new tariff) from a minimum of 2 GCE 'A' levels, plus 3 GCSEs at grade C or above.
AAT - All papers (including unit 15) passed at first attempt.
All other requirements for membership must be met.
