Staff at Lovewell Blake’s Halesworth office have again raised a substantial amount for local good causes after organising another successful charity tenpin bowling evening.

More than 80 competitors from 14 local business teams took part in the annual event in support of Lovewell Blake’s LB150 Challenge – an ongoing initiative to raise money for charities and local community groups across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Over £1,500 was raised on the night, with Barclays Bank Plc matching up to £1,000 of this. The amount will then be further matched by Lovewell Blake partners £1 for £1, bringing the grand total to over £5,000.

Event organiser Ryan Lincoln, a Manager at Lovewell Blake’s Halesworth office, said “This event has now become a firm fixture in our fundraising calendar. It’s always well supported by the teams who take part on the night, and other local businesses kindly donate further raffle and auction prizes for which we are very grateful. The evening always brings together a good mix of people and raises vital funds for some of the region’s smaller charities and community projects. We’re really proud of the amount we’ve raised and work is already underway organising next year’s event.

The defending champions Dennis Barber Limited were unable to defend their title, which was won comfortably this year by GS Computers of Loddon.

The evening was once again hosted by Rob Mayes-Smith and his staff at Richardson’s Family Bowl, Lowestoft. Rob and his team donated an annual family membership package and novelty skittles, which were auctioned off at the end of the evening fetching just under £200.

The LB150 Challenge was originally set up to mark Lovewell Blake’s 150th anniversary in 2008, with a goal of raising £150,000. Since then the firm has raised more than £200,000 benefitting more than 100 charities with funding administered by the Norfolk and Suffolk Community Foundations.

Employees at Lovewell Blake continue to raise funds for local charities and community projects via the LB150 Challenge, despite surpassing the original target.
