A series of free workshops aimed at people approaching retirement has been announced by specialist financial planners Lovewell Blake Financial Planning.
The events will help those coming up to the end of their working lives to understand their financial options – and to focus on what their wider retirement goals are going to be.
With a maximum of ten people on each workshop, the events give those attending the opportunity to pick experts’ brains, as well as supporting each other in preparing for their retirement.
“People’s attitude to retirement can vary from excitement and a feeling of liberty, to a dread of the unknown and a feeling of loss,” said Lovewell Blake Financial Planning director Robin Carnaby
“So many retirement seminars simply focus on the financial aspects of life after work. Important though that is, it’s really important to set it in the context of what each individual wants to achieve in their retirement.
“The happiest pensioners are those with a clear purpose in life, so our workshops are designed to help those attending to focus on that above all else – and then look at the financial side as a way of achieving those goals, rather than an end in itself.”
The 90 minute workshops take a broad view of retirement, starting with the question ‘What does retirement mean to you?’ and then working through how each individual can set and achieve their retirement objectives. It also explains the various options for drawing a pension, as well as optimising each individual’s tax position.
Two workshops in Norwich have been announced in the series so far; they take place on Wednesday 4th March at 7.45am (with a buffet breakfast included) and on Tuesday 10th March at 5.45pm (with refreshments included), both at Lovewell Blake’s offices on Broadland Business Park.
Further workshops are to be held around the region during the year, including in Lowestoft, Thetford, Bury St Edmunds and Ely; dates for these events will be announced in due course.
Attendance is free, but places must be reserved in advance. For more details, and to book a place, go to www.lovewell-blake.co.uk/events.
