I am a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and an insolvency practitioner who is licensed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales to carry out all forms of business recovery and insolvency work.
I joined Lovewell Blake in 1983 and obtained a broad range of accountancy experience before moving to specialise in business recovery and insolvency in 1987. After qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1994 I took a short break from studying before going on to study for the examinations of the Joint Insolvency Examinations Board which I passed in 1997. I was invited to join the partnership in 2004 and now head up our Business Recovery and Insolvency
The areas in which I specialise are informal workouts, corporate and individual voluntary arrangements, administrations and liquidations, all aimed at assisting ailing businesses across East Anglia, as well as acting as trustee in bankruptcy for individuals. I have built up a wealth of experience over the years dealing with complex and sometimes difficult situations and I am able to bring that experience to each new assignment.
One of my biggest frustrations in the work that I do is not being brought in to situations until too late in the day, when often rather than being able to implement a rescue plan, the options are limited and I end up being appointed as Supervisor, Administrator or Liquidator.
My work also includes acting as liquidator in a large number of members' voluntary (solvent) liquidations, many of which are as a result of corporate restructures and retirements.
I am also heavily involved in the work of R3, the trade body for Insolvency Practitioners
, as a long serving member of the Eastern Region committee and the national SPG committee.
My interests outside work include long walks and travelling with my wife, tennis (playing in both local and Norwich leagues), music and food & wine.
What can I do for you?
