Work experience

Claire Moore

We understand the importance of work experience and value it highly on any trainee applications we receive that is why we offer comprehensive work experience placements across our offices throughout the year.

Placements last for one week at a time and are organised centrally by our HR team.

Undertaking a work experience placement with us means you will gain a valuable insight into what it is like to be a trainee accountant at Lovewell Blake as well as further understand the industry, what services we offer and how we provide them to our clients.

How to apply

You will need to send your CV (tips on how to write a CV are below) and a covering email to Kirsty Le Grice on careers@lovewell-blake.co.uk

Your covering email needs to state what offices you can attend and the dates you are available (the more dates and locations you list the more flexibility there is in successfully allocating you a space). You also need to explain why you want to do work experience with us.

Your CV

We appreciate that if you are still at school or have only recently left you may feel you don’t have a lot to put on your CV. To help you with this we have listed the key things to include below:

  • Your name and contact details
  • A brief profile of yourself
  • Your school name
  • Subjects you are studying and any grades received or what your expected grades are
  • Any extra curricular activities you do at school – art club, sports teams etc.
  • Any positions you have held at school – mentor, prefect etc.
  • Your hobbies and interests outside of school – scouts, guides, sports clubs, anything else you like to do in your spare time
  • Any volunteering you do such as helping out at some stables or at a care home
  • Any other work experience you have had whether it be paid or unpaid, whether it be a small paper round or just a couple of days paid work, it is all relevant.

Schools, Colleges and Universities

As an employer of school leavers and university graduates we know the importance of engaging with education providers to ensure students have access to employers before they embark on their journey in to employment.

We are keen to support any local education providers with employability skills, career information and anything which can generally get students ‘work ready’.

If you would like us to work with your establishment please contact Ed Bott on careers@lovewell-blake.co.uk with further details.
