Is there a lost pension with your name on it?
Cast your mind back 10, 20 or even 30 years. Where were you working? Can you remember if there was a pension scheme? The provider would normally send you a statement every year but…
How many times have you moved home since then, and
Did you give your pension providers your new address?
If you forgot, all is not lost and you’re certainly not alone. It’s a fact that most pensions get lost when people move home because they don’t remember to give their pension providers their new address.
National Pension Tracing Day – 26th October, 2025
Did you know as many as 1 in 3 people could have a pension that they didn’t know they had? That could be you but there are ways you can trace and claim your money.
In the current cost of living crisis, retirement saving may seem like a luxury. And yet there could be lost money out there with your name on it – that’s money that could improve your retirement.
So how do I trace my pensions?
Whilst there are many free pension tracing services in and around the UK, the government offers their very own, free service, called The Pension Tracing Service. It searches a database of more than 320,000 workplace and personal pension schemes to try to find the contact details you need.
You can phone the Pension Tracing Service on 0800 731 0175 or search their online directory.
Once you find the contact details, typically the answering of a few simple questions is all that’s needed.
So why not join in and potentially discover a nest egg that you never knew you had…
