Steve and Lynn Tricker of Truly Traceable will be the speakers at the event, and will also showcase a selection of their award-winning venison and game pies and sausage rolls.
Halesworth-based Truly Traceable was established in 2014, when the couple decided to produce venison pies and sausage rolls from the surplus venison from Mr Tricker’s local deer management activity.
With Mrs Tricker having worked in catering all her life, the pair combined their expertise to create a range where, as the name suggests, all of the fillings are fully traceable.
They gradually added game flavours to their range, sourcing pheasants and partridges from local farm and estate shoots, as well as using non-game meat including Blythburgh Free Range Pork and Sutton Hoo Free Range chickens.
In 2015 – just one year after starting the business – Truly Traceable’s Homemade venison Pie won the Speciality Meat category at the British Pie Awards, the first of many awards, including further wins in the British Pie awards as well as the Great Taste Awards.
Lovewell Blake agricultural partner Ryan Lincoln, who will be chairing the event, said, “Truly Traceable is a real local success story which really resonates at a time when food provenance and traceability is high on the priorities of many consumers.
“We are really looking forward to hearing Steve and Lynn’s story, as well as tasting their wonderful range of pies and sausage rolls.”
The event takes place at Halesworth Golf club on Wednesday 11th November at 7.15pm, and the presentation will be followed by a buffet supper. Attendance is free, but places need to be booked in advance, by visiting our events page.
