Mr Bell, who is chief communications officer and senior meteorologist at Weatherquest and a lecturer in meteorology at the University of East Anglia, will explain the science behind why the Earth’s climate is warming, including the role of increasing greenhouse gas emissions.
He will also talk about the impacts that a warmer climate will have both globally and on a more local scale for the UK and East Anglia.
Originally from Texas, Mr Bell has a life-long passion for meteorology and climate, having gained an undergraduate degree in Applied Climatology from Louisiana State University. He went on to complete a Master’s degree in Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University before moving to the UK in 2004.
Lovewell Blake agricultural partner Ryan Lincoln, who will be chairing the event, said, “Climate change is arguably the single greatest challenge facing farming and food production, not just in the UK, but right across the globe.
“It is vital that everyone connected with agriculture understands the origins and scope of the issue, and the part that each of us can play in mitigating its effects and safeguarding the future of our food supply.”
